
Adele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010, USA) was an American performer and actress. She was a part of films of the 1940s and 1950s[2] in addition to in television shows during the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara became her official name, and she was offered a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation required[citation required]. Also, she gained experience with the studio's comedy shorts and B-films. The title was changed to Adele Mara. Mara was receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara and Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in the role of the sister of the wrongfully accused and exiled prisoner. She moved to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was terminated. She was employed in westerns and outdoor adventures. [citation required] She appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love lover), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
